California Barn Raising!:
locationSan Juan Capistrano, Ca.
detailsA custom "barn" built to accommodate the 350 guests on the family owned property. We developed the vision of "barn wood, roses and candlelight" to incorporate the couple's love of western elegance. A 100 year old wooden gate found on property was the inspiration for the altar. Wooden pews and an abundance of white florals beginning at the vintage doors welcomed ceremony guests. A clear sided and top tent was behind the facade of barn wood allowing guests to dine and dance in comfort. The couple's custom logo was evident from invitations to seating charts. Hay filled "stalls" with western tack served as food stations, with an abundance of red roses, candles and vintage tabletop and furnishings for diners at long and round tables. A country-western band on a stage backdropped with a barn wood wall and vintage wagon wheel chandeliers over the dance floor. Two dessert "rooms" exquisitely styled for the surprise of the Sheriff department's custom donut shop as well as the vintage dessert room with a plethora of fabulous dessert. The couple made their exit through a fireworks line of sparklers, to a waiting vintage Mustang.

momentsWhen it rains, it pours! In spite of a surprise rain storm the day of the wedding, the weeks of construction and planning didn't go to waste for a minute as this fabulous event unfolded. From the gorgeous but nervous and excited bride moments before she walked down the aisle, to the same bride a few hours later introducing the opening of the surprise Donut Shop for her law enforcement father-in-law and many non uniformed guests, I will always remember the sweet and fun spirit that she had!
thoughtsThis was one for the books!! We are so proud to have this wedding published in California Wedding Day magazine as well as featured on Green Wedding Shoes. From my first meeting with the bride and her family where we launched our vision of building a barn, throughout the entire planning process (nearly a year) I loved every minute of working with this family. I had a phenomenal team of vendors who I could not have done this without. Archive Rentals and Krista Jon florals were the nuts and bolts behind this entire affair. Without their fabulous design team and resources this would not have been the same. My own team of stylists were invaluable and helped make certain areas of this so much more beautiful and enjoyable for me. This kind of event takes a village, and I am so grateful to have lived this event in a great one!
